Gränges awarded prestigious aluminium prize

This prestigious award is presented annually to individuals or organizations that have significantly contributed to the development of aluminium in Sweden over the past decade.

A very proud Thomas VP Battery, received the award September 19:
"Totally surprized. It is a very good thing and I’m very grateful. Above all I think it is a big encouragement and acknowledgement for our operations in Finspång. The way they are embracing new technology and utilize customer focus and our experience within rolling in developing a new product that will have such an impact on sustainability".

The selection process evaluates contributions across design, entrepreneurship, environmental impact, and research and development. The jury consists of the board members of Svenskt Aluminium. 

The motivation:
“This year’s “Stora Aluminiumpriset” is awarded Gränges, through Thomas Ren, for its long-term technical investment in a production facility unique to Sweden for manufacturing of aluminium foil for the growing battery cell market – a strong contribution to a sustainable aluminium industry and battery manufacturing in Europe.”
